In 2019 Mixmag and Budweiser brought The Lab to Johannesburg – showcasing some of the world’s biggest DJ’s, gracing our African soil and pairing them with some of the hottest African acts our continent can offer. This year The LAB Johannesburg returned with its finest DJ’s at the iconic rooftop bar Venue Thirteen, overlooking starlit Johannesburg. Amidst great energy, vibes and top tier artists The Lab owned Wednesday nights in the heart of Braamfontein. On Wednesday, July 27 we bid farewell to The LAB after they brought 10 weeks of thriving shows and over 30 performing artists.

During the 21st Century , the number of women in many traditionally male dominated fields has risen. The Lab Johannesburg this year was a testament to that. Having multiple female artists being invited to be on the line ups and some not only to be part of the line ups but rather to headline the shows. Jetblack saw some of the women on their roster namley Desiree, Abby Nurock, Jackie Queens and others they are closely aligned to, perform. All whom performed to a level that can be called nothing short of spectacular.
